Warm, inexpensive, good location close to the A line subway / Howard Beach / JFK Airport train route. Helpful staff. Half hour walk from Times Square.
Would have liked a hot water jug to make drinks.

Excellent location, one of the best for the price.2 Metro stops a short walk from the door. Lots of great attractions near by. Rooms clean and adequate. NOT a luxury hotel but great for the 10 days we had there. Bathroom in room was great - recommend you get one with bath
Lots of stairs if you are high up, Noisy if on the street side, Some staff have a bad attitude but most great

It's a terrific location in the heart of the West Side. Staff go out of the way to make people feel at home. The developers have done a wonderful job converting an older facility into a decent place to stay.
The room was very small and our room was up five flights of stairs. It would have been nice to have a chair and a single electric outlet for charging phone, laptop, etc.

it is just pretty basic, but has all the necessary features and it is clean. good connection to city center, close to lot of restaurants and metro station. This is just how you want your hotel in NY to be: you don't need a luxury hotel in a city where you are never in the hotel anyway. And no complaints, like I said, basic but clean ! I can recommend it.

Very good location, close to the subway, big bedroom (stayed in one with a private bathroom) and very friendly staff.
There´s no elevator and the stairs are very steep, so it can be a problem for some people.

Location, location, location. Also, the staff were very knowledgeable, informative, and friendly.
The shower in the room was badly designed; the shower door prevented any but the smallest of people to enter and enjoy the shower. Also, the very loud street noise began before 7a.m.

Basic but good value for money. Good location, felt very safe in area, and easy to find from close metro (1,2,3). Had T.V, and bathroom not shared
Not peaceful or decorated recently...pretty basic.....window onto wall so not much light but in NYC you're only really in room to sleep, but does the job if you don't wanna spend more.

The room was small but immaculately clean - it was cleaned every day and towels were always changed. We had a shared bathroom, which I was apprehensive about, but this was also spotless and caused no problems. The area where the hotel is situated is lovely - lots of nice diners, close to central park, very safe. You can walk to 57th street within 20 mins and it's also close to the 72nd street station.
We were on the 4th floor and there is no lift so I would not recommend this hotel to anyone with difficulty climbing stairs!!

Nice location, 4 blocks from the AMNH and 3 from the Dakota (John Lennon's place). Almost everything in the room seems brand new.
The bathroom was well cleaned when we arrived, but it wasn't well cleaned the other days. If you're planning a longer stay it can be an issue.

The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The cost of the room for the location in NYC was good.
The cramped quarters at the front desk. We were checking in at the same time as two other couples and it got really crowded with our luggage.

It was cheap.
Rooms were unbelievably small. An elevator might also come in handy.

I did not like anything. For the same value you can get better place, better located. Its not super close to subway station. Its not for families or people that would feel unconfortable claimbing stairs all the time specially after an exhausting day in NYC.
